The battle of Svartalfheim was a plan by Thor to exfiltrate Jane Foster off of Asgard and onto Svartalfheim, wherein Thor would defeat the Dark Elves. Although Loki was able to kill Kurse, Malekith ultimately absorbed the Aether.

Aftermath[edit | edit source]

During the battle, Loki faked his own death, allowing him to usurp Odin. To succeed his father, Loki left Odin in Norway to die. Loki's actions ultimately led to Ragnarok and the destruction of Asgard.[1]
