Thor Odinson is the Asgardian god of thunder. Born into the Asgardian royal family, Thor grew up with Loki, the Asgardian god of trickery.

In 2011, Thor reignited a war between Asgard and Jotunheim, where Loki was born, and Thor and his hammer, Mjolnir, were banished to Earth by his father, Odin. Loki took advantage of Thor's banishment and sought to conquer Earth, using the Destroyer to do so. Odin regained his trust in Thor.

During the Chitauri invasion, Thor was among the founding members of the Avengers and fought in the Battle of New York. A year later, in 2013, Thor would battle against the Dark Elves in the Second Dark Elf conflict. Thor returned to Earth, where he helped the Avengers hunt down Loki's scepter. There, he saw a vision of the Infinity Stones and scoured the universe to investigate the visions. Thor's adventures led him to Surtur, whom assured of Asgard's doom due to Ragnarok.

Thor's absence led to Loki sending Odin to Norway, leaving him to die. The Odinforce that once kept Hela from escaping Hel ceased to exist, and Hela escaped from Hel. Hela proceeded to destroy Mjolnir and send Thor to Sakaar. On Sakaar, Thor met Valkyrie and reunited with Hulk, whom had also landed on Sakaar. Thor fought with Hulk, and the three left Sakaar to go to Asgard. Thor learned of Hela's plan to kill the Asgardian and people. Loki arrived to Asgard in the Statesman, where Loki helped the Asgardian people flee from Asgard. Thor tasked Loki with initiating Ragnarok upon Asgard to kill Hela, destroying Asgard in the process.

While on the Statesman, Thor commanded the ship to head to Earth. The ship was intercepted by Thanos and the Black Order, who killed Heimdall and Loki. The Guardians of the Galaxy then found Thor, and Thor revealed his plan to kill Thanos to them. With Rocket Raccoon and Baby Groot, Thor traveled to Nidavellir to craft Stormbreaker. Thor took Stormbreaker to Wakanda and stabbed Thanos in the chest with it. Thor's plan failed, and Thanos enacted the Snap upon the universe, eradicating half of all life. After locating Thanos weeks after the Snap occurred, Thor beheaded him.

In the years that followed, Thor became depressed and settled in Tønsberg, Norway. Following Scott Lang's escape from the Quantum Realm, Thor became part of the Time Heist and later the Battle of Earth.
