The invasion of Asgard[1] was the siege and subsequent assault of Asgard committed by the Dark Elves. The Dark Elves were drawn to Asgard through the Aether; although their mission to retrieve the Aether was unsuccessful, the Dark Elves were able to kill Frigga, the queen of Asgard and Odin's wife.
