The Valkyrie were a team of elite female Asgardian warriors. In Asgardian lore, they are considered to be legend.[1]

The origins of the Valkyrie remain unknown.

Assault on Hel[edit | edit source]

The following takes place during Thor: Ragnarok.

In 950, Hela, the goddess of death, attempted to escape from Hel, prompting Odin to send the Valkyrie to stop her. All but one of the Valkyrie, Brunnhilde, survived the attack, and Odin was forced to intervene, using the Odinforce to imprison her until the dissolution of the Odinforce in 2017. Brunnhilde, meanwhile, was forced to settle in Sakaar.
