Heimdall was an Asgardian and the former gatekeeper of the Bifrost Bridge. As gatekeeper, Heimdall often came into conflict with Odin, allowing the Warriors Three to bring Thor to Asgard to defeat Loki and allowing Thor to defeat the Dark Elves on Svartalfheim.
Heimdall aided in keeping the Asgardians safe during Hela's hostile seizure of the royal throne and helped evacuate Asgard. Heimdall was aboard the Statesman while it was attacked. Using the last bit of his magic, Heimdall sent Hulk to Earth. Heimdall was eventually killed by Thanos.
