Tønsberg is a village in Norway. Centuries ago, the village was invaded by Frost Giants, who sought to use the village to freeze Earth. The Frost Giants' efforts were futile, as the Asgardians, led by Odin, battled with the Frost Giants. Following the battle, Odin entrusted the Tesseract with the people of Tønsberg. The Tesseract was eventually located by Johann Schmidt.
In the aftermath of Ragnarok and the Snap, the remaining Asgardians, along with refugees from the planet Sakaar, settled in Tønsberg, naming the village New Asgard.
