The Clash of the Avengers was a large-scale conflict between members of the Avengers.
Background[edit | edit source]
In 2016, following an incident in Lagos caused by the Avengers that killed 26 people and the Battle of Sokovia, the United Nations announced the Sokovia Accords, a framework that would seek to regulate the Avengers and other enhanced individuals.
The Sokovia Accords divided the Avengers, with Captain America believing that the Accords would limit the Avengers to an excessive degree, while Iron Man refuted Captain America's point, believing that regulation is necessary for the safety of everyone.
