T'Challa was King of Wakanda and the holder of the Black Panther mantle from 2016 until his death in 2024. As the king of Wakanda, T'Challa eroded Wakanda's isolationist policies and revealed to the world that Wakanda had troves of vibranium, permanently affecting the country's social standing.

As the Black Panther, T'Challa played a major role in the Avengers Civil War, seeking revenge on the Winter Soldier for the death of his father and siding with Iron Man. T'Challa saved Helmut Zemo from killing himself, despite Zemo being behind the bombing that killed his father.

T'Challa returned to Wakanda, becoming king and vowing to hold notorious black market weapons dealer Ulysses Klaue responsible. T'Challa's status as king was threatened when Erik Killmonger, his cousin, attempted to seize the throne. T'Challa fought back against Killmonger and reclaimed the throne.

During the Infinity War, T'Challa served a crucial role during the Battle of Wakanda, although he was ultimately a victim of the Snap. T'Challa died of an unknown illness in 2024.
