Project Insight
Project Insight was a clandestine and secretive operation by S.H.I.E.L.D. that could eliminate any human on Earth. The operation was initiated following the Battle of New York, but its noble intentions were twisted by Hydra, who equipped Project Insight with Zola's algorithm, an algorithm capable of determining a person's threat to Hydra.
Project Insight identified at least 715,854 individuals, although Alexander Pierce estimated that Project Insight would eliminate as many as 20 million people.[1]
Upon discovering that Hydra had invaded S.H.I.E.L.D. and intended to deploy Project Insight, Steve Rogers, Sam Wilson, Natasha Romanoff, and Maria Hill worked together to put an end to Project Insight.
In 2019, a group of Chronicom hunters reestablished Project Insight in 1976 through time travel. Their efforts were stopped by Alphonso Mackenzie.
