Margaret Elizabeth "Peggy" Carter was an agent of the Strategic Scientific Reserve (SSR) and one of the founders of S.H.I.E.L.D.. One of the most prominent agents in the SSR, Carter helped put an end to HYDRA and became an ardent ally of Steve Rogers.
Born in Hampstead, London, in 1921, Carter worked for the Government Code and Cypher School in Bletchley Park during the onset of World War II, joining the SSR in 1940. On a mission in Germany, Carter saved Abraham Erskine from Johann Schmidt, allowing the SSR to start Project Rebirth.
