Loki Laufeyson, differentiated as God Loki,[1] is a former prince of Asgard.

Loki attempted to conquer Earth in 2012, but his efforts were stopped by the Avengers. In the aftermath of the battle of New York, Loki was apprehended. During the first theft of the Space Stone, Tony Stark stole the Tesseract with the Space Stone that Loki had used during his invasion. Loki was able to recover the Space Stone and teleport to the Gobi Desert, where he was located by the Time Variance Authority (TVA).

TVA judge Ravonna Renslayer sentenced Loki to being pruned, but Loki's death was averted when Mobius M. Mobius recruited him to locate Sylvie Laufeydottir, a variant exacting revenge on the TVA. Loki and Sylvie discovered that the TVA was a fictitious institution created by He Who Remains. Sylvie fatally stabbed He Who Remains in the Citadel at the End of Time, creating a multiversal crisis.

Following He Who Remains' death, Loki began time slipping and encountered Ouroboros, the TVA engineer who created the Temporal Loom. Though he initially sought to repair the Loom, Loki would destroy it and weave the branches himself.
