Westview anomaly

The Westview anomaly was a phenomenon occurring in the town of Westview, New Jersey, when Wanda Maximoff used chaos magic to entrap the town in a massive barrier known as the Hex. Those entrapped within the Hex were forced to play roles in an imaginary sitcom known as WandaVision.

The anomaly attracted the attention of S.W.O.R.D., who sought an end to Wanda's attempts to bring Vision back. Agatha Harkness, a witch who desired Wanda's powers, successfully freed the town.

Background

Following the battle of Titan, Thanos traveled to Wakanda, where he intervened in the ongoing battle to retrieve the Mind Stone from Vision's head. Although Wanda had destroyed the Mind Stone, Thanos reversed time using the Time Stone and obtained the Mind Stone for himself, killing Vision. S.W.O.R.D. was tasked with retrieving Vision's body and dismantled his body.

Following the Blip, Wanda traveled to S.W.O.R.D. headquarters and attempted to retrieve Vision's body back. Tyler Hayward, the Director of S.W.O.R.D., explained to Wanda that it wouldn't be possible for her to get Vision's body back.

Wanda drove to Westview, New Jersey, where her and Vision had planned to settle in. Wanda's frustration and grief led to chaos magic being expelled from her, creating the Hex and an recreation of Vision.
