The Spider-Man multiversal crisis was a multiversal conflict involving the universes of Spider-Man, Amazing Spider-Man, and Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.[notes 1]

Following the revelation of Peter Parker's identity as Spider-Man by Mysterio, altered footage of the battle of London framing Parker for the attack surfaced on The Daily Bugle, affecting Parker's life permanently. Parker sought the assistance of Doctor Strange, who attempted to use the Runes of Kof-Kol to undo Mysterio's actions. While casting the spell, Parker altered the parameters repeatedly, resulting in foes and other counterparts of Spider-Man being pulled into his universe.

The resulting incident caused a conflict between Strange and Parker; as the spell pulled the villains from their universe as they met their fate, Strange sought to return the villains to their universe to meet their fate, while Parker sought to cure the villains, sparing them. Although Parker succeeded in curing the villains, he was forced to complete the spell, thus making the world forget of his existence as Spider-Man.
