An arc reactor is a fusion reactor first created by Howard Stark and Anton Vanko, designed to replicate the energy emitted by the Tesseract.
Although the arc reactor was dismissed by Stark Industries executives as a publicity stunt and unsustainable financially,[1] Howard's son Tony resurrected the project in 2009, creating a miniaturized version that was used in the Iron Man armors. Stark wore a miniaturized arc reactor until 2012, following Aldrich Killian's War.
