Joss Whedon is the director and writer of The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and the pilot episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and the co-creator and executive producer of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. with Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen, and the executive producer of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Slingshot. Whedon helped rewrite parts of Captain America: The First Avenger and Thor: The Dark World, directed the post-credits and mid-credits scenes of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, provided ideas to James Gunn regarding Guardians of the Galaxy, and portrayed a visitor of the Smithsonian in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
