James Gunn is the director of Guardians of the Galaxy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and is set to direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. In addition, Gunn directed the mid-credits scene in Thor: The Dark World, the cameos for Stan Lee in Doctor Strange (to which he also wrote), Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Thor: Ragnarok, wrote the dialogue for the Guardians of the Galaxy in Avengers: Infinity War (to which he also served as an executive producer for), co-wrote the song Guardians Inferno (to which he also played a member of The Sneepers in), played Maskless Sakaaran in Guardians of the Galaxy, provided the motion capture for Baby Groot, and executive produced Avengers: Endgame and will serve as an executive producer for I Am Groot.

Gunn was fired from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 for a series of tweets he made between 2008 and 2012.[1] Gunn was later reinstated in March 2019.[2]
