Isaac "Ike" Perlmutter was the chairman and CEO of Marvel Entertainment. At Marvel Entertainment, Perlmutter made several changes to films in Phase One and Phase Two, including making Aldrich Killian the main antagonist of Iron Man 3, rather than Maya Hansen.[1] According to a series of leaked emails in 2014, these changes were made as part of Perlmutter's apparent disdain for female-led superhero films,[2] and he reportedly attempted to block the release of Black Panther and Captain Marvel, fearing that audiences would not want to see a superhero film led by a black or female actor.[3]

On March 29, 2023, The New York Times reported that Perlmutter was laid off.[4] The move came a week after Victoria Alonso was laid off.
