The Convergence is a cosmic event that occurs every 5,000 years, resulting in the alignment of the Nine Realms.
The first Convergence occurred on November 15, 2988 B.C.. The Dark Elves were able to use the wormholes opened up from the Convergence to traverse the Nine Realms, causing a conflict between the Dark Elves and the Asgardians.
The Dark Elves tried yet again in 2013, causing yet another conflict.
