Tesseract:Welcoming
New users join the wiki, create accounts, and begin what we hope to be long and fulfilling terms as editors. The world of wikis can be a harrowing, confusing place for someone who has never contributed before, and having someone show them their first steps can be a lifesaver.
There are many editors who take it upon themselves to steer these up-and-coming contributors in the right direction. These users do so by adding {{subst:Welcome}} ~~~~
to the talk pages of new users. This automatically adds the welcome template to their page, as well as your name and the date. By helping to welcome new users, you are assisting in the growth and expansion of the Tesseract Wiki!
Note: We ask that you please use the subst: function, as this makes the welcome more personal to the new user.

Your own template[edit source]
If you wish, you can also create your own welcome template to use to welcome others; use of this template is only suggested, not mandatory. However, please use the {{subst:
function if you choose to do so. If you'd like to view the personal welcoming templates of other users, check out this category.
