The Skrull invasion was a large campaign by the Skrull rebellion to conquer Earth.

Background[edit | edit source]

Skrulls are a race of shape-shifting humanoids native to Skrullos. They came into conflict with the Kree, resulting in the destruction of Skrullos. The Skrulls allied with S.H.I.E.L.D. and Carol Danvers in 1995, with S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Nick Fury promising the Skrulls a home planet. Biding time, a settlement of Skrulls resided on Earth by 1997 and were used by Fury as spies for S.H.I.E.L.D.

The Skrull Council is a formal forum of Skrulls. Talos was a member until he was exiled after Fury broke his promise. He was replaced by Gravik, an extremist Skrull devoted to conquering Earth. In 2023, following the Blip, Fury left Earth and went on board the S.A.B.E.R. Space Station while Talos served in his place on Earth. Talos requested Fury return to Earth after Quentin Beck's campaign.

Invasion[edit | edit source]

Terrorist attacks[edit | edit source]

In 2025, Earth was subject to five separate terrorist attacks[1] involving Argentina, Colombia, and the Philippines.[2]

Assassination of Prescod[edit | edit source]

In 2026, a Central Intelligence Agency agent in Russia known as Prescod obtained information about a forthcoming attack on Vossoyedineniye Square and Gravik. He was assassinated by a Skrull posing as Everett Ross.

Chase of G'iah[edit | edit source]

Sonya Falsworth, an MI6 agent, met with Fury. Through Falsworth, Fury was able to learn that the blueprints for a dirty bomb Prescod obtained could have been drafted by Vasily Poprishchin, a Chechen arms dealer. Fury, Maria Hill, and Talos tracked down Poprishchin, while Hill spotted Talos' daughter and a member of the Skrull rebellion, G'iah. Hill chased her as Fury and Talos battled a Skrull posing to be Poprishchin; the real Poprishchin was taken to New Skrullos.

Bombing of Vossoyedineniye Square[edit | edit source]

On November 4, 2026, Unity Day in Russia, Vossoyedineniye Square was bombed, killing 2,000 civilians, including Hill, and sparking a potential war between the United States and Russia. The attack was pinned on Americans Against Russia (AAR), a nationalist group.

Assassination of Brogan[edit | edit source]

Brogan, a Skrull posing as AAR leader Martin Wallace, was taken into custody by Russian police. Falsworth extracted information from him but he was ultimately assassinated by Gravik's second-in-command, Pagon.

Interception of the Neptune[edit | edit source]

In an effort to start World War III, Gravik planned an operation for the United Kingdom to attack the United Nations using Neptune. The strike was intercepted by Fury and Talos.

Attack on President Ritson[edit | edit source]

During a motorcade in London, a Skrull posing as James Rhodes, Raava, informed Gravik of President Ritson's location. Giving the illusion that they were Russians, Gravik and his men attacked Ritson and members of his Secret Service. Talos was able to break through a window to save Ritson but suffered severe injuries and was ultimately killed by Gravik while Fury rescued Ritson.
