Outriders are a species of unintelligent beasts. Much of the Outrider race is subservient to Thanos and the Black Order, and Outriders notably fought in the Battle of Wakanda and the Battle of Earth.

General information and biology[edit | edit source]

Outriders have a leathery black skin with streaks of yellow throughout their body. Some Outriders feature cybernetic enhancements like the Chitauri. Outriders also feature distinctly sharp teeth.[1] Despite lacking any advanced weaponry, Outriders are a formidable foe, with their strength rivaling even Captain America.

Variations in the Outrider species exist: while most Outriders feature four limbs, some Outriders feature six; the latter also feature horn-like protrusions that come out of their heads.

History[edit | edit source]

Battle of Wakanda[edit | edit source]

The following takes place during Avengers: Infinity War.

Outriders served a critical role during the Battle of Wakanda, where they were deployed by Proxima Midnight. As a counter-defense, the Wakandans deployed a forcefield around Wakanda in an effort to stop the Outriders from reaching Vision. As the Outriders began to try to flank Vision, King T'Challa made the decision to open the forcefield, beginning the battle.

Battle of Earth[edit | edit source]

The following takes place during Avengers: Endgame.

Thanos' Outriders assisted him during the Battle of Earth. A group of Outriders were sent to find the Nano Gauntlet and hunted Clint Barton. However, all of the Outriders were slain by Iron Man, who used the Gauntlet to kill all of the Outriders, along with the rest of Thanos' army and Thanos himself.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • According to The Art of Avengers: Infinity War, the design of the Outriders needed to be tweaked, as their design proved too similar to that of Venom.
  • In the non-canon book Thanos: Titan Consumed, Outriders are the result of the combination of Thanos' DNA mixed with Chitauri DNA, along with the DNA of a few other unknown species.
