Agatha Harkness is a witch. During the Salem witch trials, Harkness was held by the Salem coven, who attempted to kill her for practicing dark magic. Harkness fought back, killing her mother and continued to practice dark magic, eventually obtaining the Darkhold.
During the Westview anomaly, Harkness was among those taken hostage by Wanda Maximoff in Westview, New Jersey, taking on the identity of Agnes. Harkness attempted to absorb Maximoff's power; her plan failed, and Maximoff confined Harkness to her Westview identity.
